According to NY Daily Times, Bill’s charges were related to a trust fund he handled as an attorney. The FBI also had been probing a business deal related to Rochester’s $1.3bn school modernization program, which he played a central role in.
The deceased called his lawyer, saying he planned to take his life. A police officer tracked him down, but he pulled the trigger before he could be stopped.
He is survived by a wife and three children.
